Millwall have had a very strong return to the Championship this season and look capable of avoiding relegation with ease.

The Lions have secured some massive results this season and have turned over many of the top teams, particularly at The Den and will be hoping to add Wolves to that list with the league leaders in town tomorrow.

Even though they’ve had a good season it’s fair to say that Neil Harris’ men deserve more points given the performances that they’ve put in.

It feels as if Millwall are just lacking that little bit of quality in both boxes otherwise they could have serious ambitions of making the top half.

Harris will try to address those issues in January however the Lions can’t throw lots of money at it like other Championship clubs, so that means players may need to go in order to accommodate the new signings.

Here are two players who should leave in the window.

Ben Thompson

It would be really tough for both the club and the player to part ways. Thompson is a proper Millwall man and played a key part in their promotion last season.

However, from his career perspective a move is what’s needed. He is fourth choice in midfield at The Den and has found game time very hard to come by.

A new arrival would push him further down the pecking order, but even as it stands, the 22-year old would benefit from playing regularly at his age.

Tony Craig

Another who has a strong relationship with the fans, but if Millwall are to progress they have to be ruthless.

At 32-years old Craig is past his best and his only start came in the 1-0 home defeat to Burton Albion.

Harris has to have a new defender in his sights in January and again that will mean Craig is even less likely to play. He appears to be a great character to have at the club but he surely wants to be playing and that won’t happen at Millwall.
