According to BBC Sport, Huddersfield have offered Nigel Adkins the vacant manager's job as they look for a replacement for Jan Siewert.
Adkins left Hull City in the summer after doing a good job there and has been unemployed since, but that could well change soon.
Would he be a good appointment for the Terriers, though? Some of our writers take a look in this latest Verdict piece...
Jacob Potter
"I think this would be a great appointment for the Terriers.
"Adkins knows the Championship well, and will be keen to get back into the dugout at the earliest of opportunities after leaving Hull.
"Huddersfield can’t afford to get their next appointment wrong, otherwise they could find themselves playing their football in League One next season.
"They need stability, and Adkins would certainly provide them with that going forward.
"He’d be my top candidate to take charge of the club if I was a Huddersfield supporter.
"The sooner they appoint a new manager, the better."
Chris Gallagher
"A very sensible move.
"Clearly, they need to do something quickly because the club is in turmoil right now and there's understandably a lot of negativity and a real fear that a successive relegation could happen.
"So, ideally they need a manager with experience and someone who can organise the side to pick up immediate results and Adkins fits the bill on that front.
"Importantly, he can also be viewed as a decent long-term appointment for the Terriers in the sense that he encourages attacking, high-pressing football and has shown he can work on a budget and bring through younger players.
"It may not be the most glamorous appointment but it's a smart decision from Huddersfield."
George Dagless
"I think it could work out well.
"Adkins has got a good reputation at this level and though not every job has worked for him he did do some fine work at Hull City.
"He'll bring a positive nature to Huddersfield and hopefully, for them, change the mentality at the club because at the moment they are too used to losing and it's only taking them one way."
