Bristol City manager Lee Johnson is having an excellent season in the Championship, with the Robins one place and one point off the play-off spots but with two games in-hand on some of their rivals above them.

Despite their strong showing in the league, that has not stopped Johnson looking to the future with impressive attacking midfielder Sammie Szmodics of Colchester United a summer target, according to the Daily Mail.

So would Szmodics be a good signing for the Robins?

We discuss.........

George Dagless

"Potentially.

"He's a good player and the Robins are handy at signing these footballers and getting the best out of them.

"I could see him doing a good job there to be honest."

George Harbey

"I think he'd be a fantastic signing for the Robins.

"City have a knack of signing talented players from the league below, and Szmodics would definitely fit into their team.

"He can score goals and create them too, and he is a very talented attacking midfielder."

Jay Taylor

“I can see this being a smart move by the Robins – and a typical Lee Johnson signing.

“Smodicz is a smart, young midfielder and would be under less pressure at Ashton Gate than if he were to move elsewhere.

“Bristol City would do well to get this deal over the line ahead of other potential suitors.”
