‘A total lack of leadership’ – Plenty of Reading fans react to midweek humbling

Reading were thrashed at home on Tuesday night as Scott Parker’s Fulham side ran riot at the Madejski Stadium.

It was a poor performance from Jose Gomes’ side, and it lead to boos from the home supporters as the Cottagers scored three first-half goals to guarantee victory.

Tom Cairney added his second of the game with half an hour remaining to continue his fine goal-scoring form, whilst Aleksandar Mitrovic was also on target twice.

John Swift was sent-off for a second yellow card early on in the meeting, meaning he’ll miss Saturday’s trip to Ashton Gate.

This means it’s now four defeats in five for the Royals, and with tough fixtures up ahead it will be hard to stop the rot.

Reading take on Bristol City this Saturday knowing that there is now pressure from supporters and most likely the board for a result.

Last night’s performance will not want to be repeated anytime soon by Gomes’ men.

Here’s what Royals fans thought of the performance on Tuesday night…
