Portsmouth's 2018/19 campaign ended in disappointment and after pushing for automatic promotion for the duration they had to settle for fourth before being narrowly beaten by Sunderland in the play-offs.

But Jackett is clearly keen to finish off the job this time around and completed his seventh signing of the summer on Thursday night in the form of Burton Albion winger Marcus Harness.

The 23-year-old  winger makes the move to Fratton Park on a three-year deal that includes the option of a fourth as Kenny Jackett looks to build a side capable of challenging for promotion again.

Last season saw him score five goals and assist seven more for Nigel Clough's side as they made a push for the League One play-offs - but ultimately fell short.

Harness is a graduate of the Brewers' youth academy although last season was his first one of regular action for the club, previously being sent out on loan to Ilkeston, Aldershot and Port Vale.
