Blackburn Rovers applied even more pressure to the play-off spots with a 2-0 victory over Hull City last night.
Daniel Ayala nodded in a 61st minute opener for Rovers after a tightly-contested first half at Ewood Park.
Four minutes later, Ben Brereton Diaz netted his fourth of the season, firing expertly past Matt Ingram in the Hull goal from the left side of the area.
The 22-year-old, who is becoming one of the biggest names in the Championship, caught the attention of most when he received a shock international call up by Chile.
Proceeding to play an integral role in the side that were narrowly edged out by Brazil in the quarter-finals, Brereton Diaz scored the winner in the country's second game of the competition against Bolivia.
The young forward has returned with confidence this season, adding a further assist to the four Championship goals he has scored.
Progressing through the academies at Stoke City and Nottingham Forest, Brereton Diaz made his senior debut for the latter in 2017.
Signing for Blackburn in the summer of 2019, the 22-year-old has proceeded to make 96 appearances for the Lancashire club.
