Stoke City are said to be interested in signing Brentford midfielder, Romaine Sawyers according to The Sentinel.

The 27-year-old has been impressive for the Bees last season, and his good run of form seemingly hasn’t gone unnoticed as Nathan Jones’ side register their interest in signing him.

But any potential deal agreement between the two sides won’t be reached unless Stoke are to sell Joe Allen before the transfer window closes.

Stoke will be hoping that they can have a better season than last year’s league campaign, as they finished 16th in their first spell back in the Championship.

They evidently see Sawyers as a player that can take them to the next level, and it will be interesting to see if they submit a formal bid for the creative midfielder.

But would Swayers be a good signing for the Potters?

We discuss….

Louie Chandler:

"It would add some good depth.

"Sawyers has been a consistent performer in the Championship throughout his career and it would be interesting to see him at another club.

"Stoke will be desperate to bounce back after last season as well so it could be a good match."

Jacob Potter:

"This would be an excellent signing.

"Stoke need players that are proven in the Championship, and Sawyers certainly falls into that category.

"He’s been brilliant for Brentford for a number of seasons now, and Nathan Jones will do really well to sign him, as he’s a player that will surely be in-demand over the summer."

Ben Lang:

"This would be a solid signing for Stoke and he should be one of their top targets over the summer.

"Stoke struggled to find the back of the net under Jones in the second-half of the season, and Sawyer's excellent passing ability could provide the creativity they have been lacking.

"Sawyers has also demonstrated his ability to display midfield toughness, which is also an important trait when playing Jones' system."
