Blackburn Rovers have had a solid returning season to the Championship with survival nearly guaranteed.

Tony Mowbray has done a great job of continuing the feel good factor from their promotion winning season from League One last season, with Bradley Dack and Danny Graham both continuing their fine form.

It is nearing the time when attentions can turn to the summer transfer window, with the club no doubt keen to build on the foundations laid this season.

In fact, a bit of transfer news was confirmed on Monday when Under-17 goalkeeper Ben Winterbottom completed a move to Liverpool following a successful trial with the Reds.

The Merseyside Club’s under-18s are short of goalkeepers and saw the opportunity to bring in the Rovers man as too good to pass up.

So, will he prove to be a good signing?

We discuss…

George Harbey

“He is certainly one for the future.

“Winterbottom has clearly impressed a host of people at Ewood Park, and seems fully deserving of his love to Anfield.

“Merseyside is the perfect place for him to develop as a player.”

Chris Gallagher

“It's a great move for the teenager.

“Obviously he is a long way away from the first-team but this is a chance to work at a massive club alongside some really big names.

“Clearly, he is a talent and it's now down to the stopper to continue to develop and improve on his game.”

Jacob Potter

“It's a smart bit of business by the Reds.

“He's evidently got something about him if he's attracting interest from one of the best clubs in England.

“Liverpool need back up in between the sticks and Winterbottom will certainly provide them with that.”
