Leeds United are said to be rivalling Sheffield Wednesday to the potential signing of ADO Den Haag winger, Sheraldo Becker according to the Sunday Mirror (19th May, page 70).

Becker has been in impressive form recently, and has seven goals and ten assists to his name to finish this year's campaign.

The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and given his good run of form, it seems unlikely that he'll sign a new deal with the Dutch club anytime soon.

It has previously been reported by Teeside Live, that Middlesbrough were one of the frontrunners to sign him, but Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday have seemingly edged ahead of them in the race to sign Becker.

Derby, Swansea and Hull are also said to be interested (19th May, page 70) in signing him in the summer, so it's certainly going to be a closely-fought battle to land his signature ahead of next year's campaign.

But would Becker be a good signing by Leeds in the summer?

We discuss....

Jacob Potter:

"This would be a smart bit of business.

"Becker is a man in form, and evidently has something about him if he is attracting interest from two of the biggest clubs in the Championship.

"This would be a good long-term replacement for Pablo Hernandez in the future."

Toby Wilding:

"This could be a good signing for Leeds.

"He may not always start if he moves to Elland Road, but you could see him offering something different when Leeds need to change the course of a game.

"Something which they have been lacking in the final months of this season.

"He's out of contract in the summer, which also make him a considerably cheaper alternative to the likes of Jack Harrison."

George Harbey:

"I think Becker is exactly the type of player that Leeds United need.

"They are craving that fast, speedy winger who can score and produce plenty of goals, especially with Jack Harrison returning to Manchester City.

"If they miss out on Dan James, which looks very likely, then the signing of Becker would certainly soften the blow."
