Leeds United are said to be one of a number of clubs eyeing a transfer swoop for highly-rated midfielder, Conner Rennison according to TEAMtalk.

It is also thought that Newcastle and Sunderland are also rivalling the Whites to a potential deal, with the Hartlepool midfielder's contract due to expire in the summer.

The 16-year-old has been compared to Sunderland midfielder, Lee Cattermole and is certainly a man in demand heading towards the summer transfer window.

He could be tempted by the prospect of playing in the Premier League, and Leeds will be hoping they can potentially offer Rennison that with Marcelo Bielsa's side challenging for a long-awaited promotion.

Bielsa's men have hardly put a foot wrong all season, and are one of the teams to beat in the Championship this year.

Rennison's future surely lies away from Hartlepool though, with the youngster not being on a professional deal at this moment in time.

But would Rennison be a good signing for Leeds?

We discuss....

Jay Taylor:

"Rennison is a very forward-thinking and attack-minded midfielder who covers a lot of ground.

"That makes him perfect for Leeds and the way they play.

"Considering he is still a young talent, he has a considerable amount of time to improve.

"This could be a fantastic signing further down the line."

Jacob Potter:

"It's a smart bit of business if they can pull it off.

"He's clearly got something about him if he's attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in England.

"They need to do everything they can to sign him when his contract expires in the summer as he could play a starring role in the future of the club."

George Harbey:

"It could be a good signing for Leeds.

"I've seen Rennison play before and he's a really good, attack-minded midfielder who creates plenty of chance for himself and his team-mates.

"He suits Leeds' style of play and could be one for the future."
