Swansea City face a double departure potentially this week, with manager Graham Potter having permission to speak to managerless Brighton, while the Seagulls are also keen to match any bid from Sheffield United , as they look to sign Swans striker Oli McBurnie, as reported in the print edition of The Sun (May 19, Page 63).

McBurnie has had an excellent season at the Liberty Stadium under Potter and with the Swans failing to make the step up to the Premier League this season, the time could be right to make the step-up to the English top-flight.

So would McBurnie be a good signing for the Seagulls?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

"The Seagulls can't rely on Glenn Murray forever, as they nearly paid the price for this season.

"McBurnie has proven this season that he can find the net consistently, and Brighton have struggled for someone who can do that recently.

"With Graham Potter looking all but certain to take over at Brighton, The Seagulls would be in a strong position to get the best out of McBurnie."

Gary Hutchinson

“There’s not enough goals in him to be a good signing in the PL.

“He might do well under Potter there, he might make the step up.

“However, I didn’t see him tearing up the Championship this season.

“It could be an unwise move.”

Jacob Potter

"A smart bit of business if they pull it off.

"Brighton will need a long-term replacement for Glenn Murray and McBurnie would certainly be that.

"He plays a similar style of football to Murray and he should be the first player that Brighton look to sign.

"They’ll be in pole position as well, especially if Potter signs along the dotted line in the near future."
