Hull City manager Nigel Adkins has half an eye on next season as he prepares for the trip to Ipswich Town this weekend following the international break, with the Tigers in the relative safety of mid-table this season.

With Tigers goalkeeper David Marshall out of contract in the summer, but no sign of a new deal forthcoming it would seem that a new keeper is on the shopping list at the KCOM with Lee Burge of Coventry City a target, according to HITC.

So would Burge be a good signing for Hull City?

We discuss........

Jacob Potter

"A smart bit of business.

"Marshall’s contract is expiring at the end of the season and Hull need a goalkeeper who isn’t going to be costing the club as much.

"Burge fits that description and has a point to prove after a number of impressive seasons in the lower leagues with Coventry."

Gary Hutchinson

“Not for the Championship, no.

“Burge is a decent League One keeper, but in the second tier he’d be out of his depth.

“This is surprising, it looks like Hull are planning on a tight budget.

“Worrying times.”

Jay Taylor

“Bit of a nothing signing for me.

“Hull need to cut their cloth accordingly, and this screams to me as a cheaper alternative to a player they may have wanted.

“It’s a needs must situation as they have little money to play with.”
