It is safe to say that Nottingham Forest have been incredibly busy this summer, with Aitor Karanka leading a squad overhaul that he hopes will bring top-flight football back to the city.

So far they have brought in Joao Carvalho, Gil Dias, Diogo Goncalves, Lewis Grabban, Costel Pantillimon, Jack Colback, Hillal Soudani, Tobias Figueiredo and Michael Dawson.

The latest name to be linked with a move to Nottingham is Liverpool's Pedro Chirivella, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that Jurgen Klopp is keen to sell the winger with Forest interested.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Willem II Tilburg, assisting three goals and scoring none and the season before scored two and assisted two in the same division.

But with all the money already thrown at Forest, is Chirivella actually needed? Would he be a good signing for Forest?

We discuss...

They're eying Sheyi Ojo too and I can't help but feel landing Chrivella would be the booby prize now.

He's done okay in the Eredivisie, but I see nothing to suggest he'd set the Championship ablaze. Forest have acquired better targets already this summer, they should remained focused on Ojo.

George Dagless

I'd say so.

He's highly rated at Liverpool but hasn't got much of a chance of first-team football there at the moment.

He's a tricky player that can knit things up so is certainly worth a look.

At the right price, this could be a shrewd signing for the Reds.

Chirivella is not going to get much game time at Liverpool and deserves a move away for the sake of his own career.

At Nottingham Forest, under the guidance of Aitor Karanka, the young Spaniard could take his game to the next level.

Jay Taylor

For a player to be worth £5million having never made a senior appearance is crazy, but it is the footballing world we live in.

The 21-year-old came through Valencia’s academy before a move to Liverpool. Since Aitor Karanka is Spanish, he would have some knowledge of the young Spanish midfielder.

Forest already have ten new players in this summer, so why stop there.

The club should be wary of a player who has a price tag like that considering he is virtually an unknown quantity in first-team men’s football, let alone in a league like the Championship.

A loan might be better as it is a lower financial risk, but if Karanka feels he is the player he wants, they why not go out and get him.
