Former Reading winger, Jimmy Kebe, is back on the market having seen his contract with Crystal Palace expire this summer, and several Championship clubs should be considering offering terms to the experienced player in the coming weeks.

Kebe was excellent during his time at the Madejski Stadium, but following a disappointing spell with Palace, will look to kick start his career before it is too late.

The 33-year-old former Malian international still has plenty to offer, and if he can regain the form and fitness he exhibited earlier in his career, then he could yet prove a useful outlet in England’s second tier.

One club who may consider a short term deal for the player are new boys Millwall, who will be looking to bolster their squad ahead of their first season back at this level, and the addition of an winger of Kebe’s quality and experience will be a welcome sight for manager, Neil Harris.

The Lions face a trip to Nottingham Forest this weekend to kick off their campaign, and transfer activity has been thorough, with seven new faces settling into the squad ahead of the fixture.

Adding Kebe to the mix would mark a solid signing for Harris, with the player an extremely low risk option, and should be available with reasonable wage demands.

Kebe may not be the week in, week out performer he once was, but adding depth in the wide areas would mark shrewd business by Harris, and the winger could still pop up with the odd contribution as the Lions look to avoid the drop.

Can Kebe still do a job at this level?
