Sheffield Wednesday’s excellent start to life under Garry Monk continued yesterday as they saw off Wigan at home.
A 1-0 win was enough for the Owls to take all three points and keep themselves well in contention for the top six.
It was a hard-fought game for Wednesday, who were frustrated for long periods by a resolute Wigan side, while they also had to rely on goalkeeper Keiren Westwood to make some big saves during the second half.
In among the excellent defensive displays from the Owls was the performance once again of Julian Borner, who has quickly established himself as a fan favourite since arriving in the summer.
Borner was once more resolute in his defending, and after a video emerged on the Owls’ official Twitter account demonstrating his commitment to the cause, there was plenty of praise heading his way from the Wednesday faithful.
With that then, we at FLW took a look at exactly what Wednesday fans had to say about Borner…
I love this much more than I should.

Great signing, a rock at the back💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Wish that pathetic song some of our fans sing about him would stop though.

Love this about Börner. Why shouldn’t a defender be just as proud of doing his job as an attacker? Clearly demonstrates his commitment.

Nice to have a defender prepared to put his body on the line
