What a start to the season it’s been for Cardiff City, who are flying high in the Championship.
The Bluebirds have made a fast start to the Championship season, with wins at Burton on the opening day and Aston Villa on the weekend, giving them six points out of six and putting them top of the tree.
The Bluebirds have pieced together a very decent looking side over the summer and look like dark horses for Premier League promotion, with Kenneth Zohore and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing all impressing thus far.
Neil Warnock has cast doubt over whether the club will bring in any new additions after a busy transfer window, but there is one signing still out there that would certainly boost their promotion hopes.
Former Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley was released by Crystal Palace at the end of last season, and the Welshman is yet to find a permanent home following his release.
Ledley made over 220 appearances for Cardiff and is an academy graduate at the club.
He left to join Scottish giants Celtic in 2010 on a free transfer.
Now without a club, he we would surely be welcomed back to the Cardiff City stadium with open arms, and could help sure up their midfield options, a fine addition for any Championship side.
Cardiff have seen club legend Peter Whittingham as well as Emyr Huws depart this summer, leaving Loic Damour, Joe Ralls and Aron Gunnarsson as the club’s only midfield options.
Snapping up Ledley on a free would be a very smart move for a quality player at this level, and could be the difference between promotion for the Bluebirds.
