In storming to the top of the Championship, Leeds United have used 13 different back four combinations, as revealed by journalist Phil Hay.

Their so-called 'first choice' back four have only played together on five occasions, and yet they're still out in front in the Championship with the second highest amount of clean sheets in the second tier.

Injuries have decimated their season, with every single key player at the back having some time on the treatment table.

It's lead to youngsters such as Aapo Halme and Leif Davis getting league games under their belt and has seen players shuffled into makeshift positions just to get a coherent side out some weeks.

Despite that, they've still looked more calm and assured at the back than some of the settled sides in the division.

Only Boro have kept more clean sheets, remarkable when you consider they've not only had so much upheaval in the defence, but also played young Bailey Peacock-Farrell in goal when he's got such little experience prior to the middle of last season.

It's something that has brought Leeds fans to social media to laud the Argentinian for his coaching skills, but also to pose the question; what if? What if they'd stayed injury free and settled?
