Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi could have a battle on his hands come January with Arsenal poised to make a move for defender Joe Worrall, it is being reported by Football Insider.

The Premier League giants are desperate for a new centre-back as they look to address their defensive issues and see 22-year-old Worrall as the player who could fit he bill, having impressed on-loan at Rangers last season and for Forest so far this campaign.

So would Worrall be a good signing for the Gunners and is he good enough for the Premier League?

We discuss..........

Chris Gallagher

"I've got to be honest, I don't think he is that level.

"Worrall has been superb this season but Lamouchi has simplified his game for him. The way Forest are set up means he is well protected and he can shine when it comes to tackling, heading and blocking.

"The demands of a centre-back at Arsenal are completely different and I'm not sure he would be as effective in a side that plays a higher line and can't set up in deep blocks or to counter, as Forest do on occasions.

"That's not to dismiss Worrall's performances this season, he really has been superb, but the step up to a top-flight side that want to play in the Champions League is a massive one. I would be very surprised if this happened."

Ned Holmes

"This could be a really smart move by Arsenal.

"Worrall has been hugely impressive for the Reds this season–starting all but one of their Championship games and helping them to concede the second-fewest goals in the division.

"At 22, the centre-back should only get better, so this would be a move that would likely pay dividends for the Gunners in the future.

"That being said, it is undoubtedly a risk as the step-up between the Championship and the Premier League is a big one and there is no guarantee he is ready for it.

"Arsenal need to add more quality to their defensive unit and if they're willing to give him time to develop, Worrall could be just that."

Chris Thorpe

"This would be an interesting signing for Arsenal, with Worrall having proved himself at Championship level, maybe he feels that he could make the step up to the Premier League in a few years time.

"As Arsenal have continually proved over the years, the club likes to put a lot of faith in young players, with the likes of Rob Holding being shining examples of how well players can develop at Premier League clubs following moves from the Championship.

"This is certainly a player that Forest will be keen to hang onto, with Worrall forming one of the key pillars of their squad this term, with his partnership with Michael Dawson being one of the best in the league.

"His ability to play the ball out from the back will certainly be one of the key aspects of his game that appeals to Arsenal, whilst he also no slouch in terms of pace, meaning that he would suit Unai Emery's high defensive line."
