It's been a turbulent few years for Birmingham City.

Battling relegation more often than not, it's been a depressing period for the Blues fans and they'll be desperate for the good times to come back to St Andrew's very soon.

Over the last five years, what has been THE lowest moment Birmingham have endured?

We take a look....

Alfie Burns

Gianfranco Zola’s miserable spell as manager at St Andrew’s was a huge disappointment.

Birmingham’s supporters were furious by Gary Rowett’s dismissal, with the Blues looking like a side that could challenge for promotion before the club’s owners pulled the trigger.

The Blues almost suffered relegation due to Zola’s disastrous reign, with Harry Redknapp the man to thank for maintaining the club’s second-tier status.

Chris Gallagher

The Zola reign.

Sacking Gary Rowett was a stupid decision and looks to have set the club back years. The Derby boss was overachieving and perfect for the players they had at the club. Zola was the complete opposite.

The Chelsea legend had an awful record and there was real animosity in the stands.

It was a real low point and unfortunately there were similar signs in the away end at Barnsley on Saturday.

George Dagless

Sacking Gary Rowett.

For the first time in a while Birmingham were looking like serious promotion contenders under Rowett and then the club removed him.

What the owners were thinking at the club still remains a baffling topic and the Blues really have never recovered.

Another relegation battle is beckoning this season.

Hear me out, but surviving on the final day last season.

A club like Birmingham should not be flirting with relegation, but having to win on the final day of the season to survive the drop to the third tier was a real embarrassment for the club.

Yes, there was euphoria that the club had survived the drop, but come on, Brum fans, surely you know this was a farce?
