Blackburn Rovers this week confirmed the signing of Chelsea winger Kasey Palmer on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old becomes Tony Mowbray's third signing of the summer after Joe Rothwell and Jacob Davenport arrived earlier in the window.

Palmer was part of David Wagner's Huddersfield squad who caused a shock when they won the Championship playoffs two years ago.

That season he scored four goals and assisted three more in 24 appearances and scored two goals in 15 appearances whilst on loan at Derby County in the second half of last season as well.

Palmer is capable at playing on both wings as well as a striker and is a current England under-21 international.

So will Palmer prove to be a good signing for Tony Mowbray's men this season?

Gary Hutchinson

I’m a huge fan of youngsters from the upper echelons of our football spectrum dropping down into the Championship for regular football, so yes, this is a good deal.

Blackburn did well out of the loan market last season and I see no reason why Palmer can’t simply be another success story for Tony Mowbray.

Jay Williams

This is an excellent signing by Mowbray and a real coup to beat other Championship clubs to his signature.

Palmer is an exciting attacking midfielder who offers goals, assists and good all-round game play.

The 21-year-old also has experience of getting into the play-offs in the last two seasons - going all the way with Huddersfield in 2016/17.

Jay Taylor

A very astute signing from Tony Mowbray has spent the past two seasons in the Championship and knows the league well.

He won promotion with Huddersfield before play-off failure with Derby - so knows what it takes to compete at the top of the division.

Beating Derby to his signature is great business, he will do well for Rovers.

Chris Gallagher

A brilliant signing.

The prospect of Bradley Dack and Palmer in the attacking midfield roles for Blackburn is great for the fans. They could be a brilliant partnership and help provide Rovers with a real cutting edge.

Alfie Burns

This has the potential to be one of the summer’s best signings.

Palmer is someone that impresses me every time I see him play and I’m sure Mowbray will get the best out of him.

These are exciting times for Blackburn.
