Wolves are edging closer to completing the permanent signing of Benik Afobe.

According to Sky Sports this morning, Afobe has passed a medical with Wolves and will join the club in a £12.5m deal following a successful loan spell.

Afobe spent the second-half of the 2017/18 campaign on-loan at Molineux, making 16 appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side and scoring six goals.

The 25-year-old spearheaded Wolves’ attack during the second-half of the season, as Nuno Santo’s side stormed to promotion and the Sky Bet Championship title.

The ex-Arsenal forward now looks set for his second permanent stint at Molineux, with Wolves edging closer to securing his service today.

Afobe is a popular figure at Molineux, with Wolves’ supporters worshiping the striker after two successful spells in old gold.

However, it appears supporters of other clubs are far from convinced, with many criticising the £12.5m fee Wolves are set to pay.
