Sheffield Wednesday continue their unbeaten run under new manager Steve Bruce, with their latest win against Bolton Wanderers leaving the Owls in 11th place in the Championship, four points off the play-off places with nine matches of the season remaining.

Bruce though will be frustrated that he may have to do without striker Lucas Joao following a knee injury, with the 25-year-old returning to his native Portugal to seek specialist treatment, according to a report in the Star.

So, is his news a blow?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"Absolutely.

"Joao has not been the most consistent performer this season but remains the club's most talented striker for me.

"In a season where they have already been massively hampered by injuries, this is the last thing they will need."

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes, of course.

“Losing any key player is a blow, especially after the recent good run of form.

“They’ve got a decent squad though and can cover him until the summer.

“After that, they might not need to.”

Jay Taylor

“It is a pretty big blow to be fair, but as one door closes another one opens.

“Joao may be out but Gary Hooper is coming back soon, and Sam Winnall will be available, too.

“So, with those two returning the one going out of the team doesn’t seem so bad.

“His loss will be less of a blow with the return of the attacking duo.”
