Leeds United have been linked with West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan.

The Spaniard was a coach at Elland Road under Marcelo Bielsa and the Daily Mail has reported that he's a potential candidate to replace Jesse Marsch should Leeds look to move on from the American.

Corberan has impressed since taking over at West Brom late last year but are there any other Championship coaches that the Whites should be considering?

We asked our FLW writers for their thoughts...

In terms of suitability for the potential vacancy, with the style of play that Leeds have opted for in the last few seasons, Corberan is definitely the pick of the bunch in the Championship.

However, there are two other managers in the second tier who could make a good fist of the step up.

Should the decision come for the Whites to get rid of Marsch, it will be due to relegation fears and Gary Rowett would not be a bad choice in looking to arrest their slide.

The Millwall boss has consistently overperformed compared to the squad quality and resources at his disposal, outside of a brief spell at Stoke City, and he would certainly make Leeds harder to beat.

The other option would be Mark Robins, the Coventry City manager has worked with a squad profile with similarities to the one in place at Elland Road in his time with the Sky Blues, and in terms of style of play he is a closer fit than Rowett.

I would quite like to see Corberan get the job if Marsch departs, but Rowett and Robins would be worth a conversation.

Vincent Kompany and Michael Carrick are the two ones that jump out.

The former has done a fantastic job with Burnley - helping to reinvigorate their squad and transform their playing style across two windows and lead them to the top of the Championship.

We can say with some confidence that he'll be managing in the Premier League next season and is looking increasingly likely to be a possible successor to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Carrick has less management experience than Kompany but understands the English top flight better than most. He enjoyed a decorated playing career and spent years as a coach at Manchester United - though his links to the Old Trafford club could be an obstacle given their rivalry with Leeds.

Just like Corberan, the 41-year-old arrived midway through the season with Middlesbrough struggling and has turned their fortunes around completely.

Boro now sit third in the Championship and Carrick's stock has skyrocketed as a result.

You can't help but look at Burnley's Vincent Kompany who has done an excellent job at Burnley and it wouldn't be a surprise if he reaches the highest level.

Already having a decent amount of managerial experience on his CV, the former Manchester City centre-back could be an excellent long-term replacement for Jesse Marsch.

The biggest problem the Whites may have if they appoint him is the possibility of him being poached by another club in the future - but that's a nice problem to have because that would indicate that he's been a massive success in Leeds.

Spending his playing and managerial career in the north, he may be open to taking this job, but may want to finish the season at Burnley first.

Former boss Paul Heckingbottom could be another suitable option as a man based in Yorkshire - but Kompany is probably the best option.

The fact the latter was able to rebuild the Clarets' squad in the summer and still guide them to such a strong position has to be commended.
