Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley looks like he could be planning a raid on his old club, with Lincoln City manager Michael Appleton suggesting that left-back Harry Toffolo could be on his way out of the club, according to a report on Lincolnshire Live.

Examiner Live report that the Terriers are keen and a move looks very much on the cards.

Toffolo has arguably been the Imps player of the season so far, but Appleton was keen to stress the 24-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer, will only leave this month if their valuation is met.

So would Toffolo be a good recruit for the Terriers, is he needed and would he start?

We discuss.........

Jordan Rushworth

“This could be a very good signing for Huddersfield, with Toffolo having showed some real consistent form for Lincoln so far this campaign in League One, managing to offer both solidity down the left-hand side of the Imps’ defence and an attacking outlet on the overlap.

“Danny Cowley knows all about the defender’s qualities having brought him into Lincoln before eventually leaving to take over at Huddersfield, and he will therefore know how to get the best out of Toffolo both defensively and going forwards.

“The Terriers are in need of a new left-back, and Toffolo could be an excellent option for Cowley to call upon to start for Huddersfield consistently during the rest of the season, although it would be interesting to see if he could adapt his game to suit the Championship.

“Huddersfield are in need of signing someone who could come straight into the side and show consistent form, and therefore they would need Toffolo to adapt straight away which could be a potential risk for them to take by bringing him in this month.”

Josh Cole

“Whilst Toffolo has never played in the Championship before, it could be argued that Huddersfield ought to consider taking a risk on him given the standard of his displays for Lincoln recently.

“One of the Imps’ star performers this season, the defender has taken the third-tier by storm since the club’s promotion to this particular division last year.

“As well as being able to read the game in a defensive sense, Toffolo also offers a threat going forward which has resulted in him five direct goal contributions in all competitions.

“Having thrived under the guidance of Danny Cowley during the Huddersfield manager’s time at Lincoln, there is no reason why the 24-year-old cannot go on to achieve a great deal of success at the John Smith’s Stadium.”

George Harbey

"I think that the Terriers are in real need of a new, solid, experienced left-back and Toffolo is certainly a player who fits the bill.

"Jaden Brown has been solid enough in recent weeks, but if Huddersfield are to secure their Championship status for another year, then it would be less risky to bring in another defender who has experience of the leagues.

"Toffolo is obviously a player who Cowley knows lack the back of his hands having been such an integral player for him at Lincoln - first and foremost, he is solid in defence, but also offers so much going forward with his dangerous crossing abilities.

"He's at a decent age and has played for a fair few clubs in his career, but Huddersfield could be a perfect place for him to settle down after what has been a remarkable spell at Sincil Bank with the Imps."
