Blackburn Rovers are keeping tabs on Motherwell midfielder Alex Rodriguez Gorrin.
The Championship outfit have been credited with interest for the 25-year-old from the Daily Record, but face competition for the impressive performer from the likes of Wigan and Millwall.
Gorrin has been in form at Fir Park since coming into the team at the turn of the year having signed for the club in the summer.
He is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to talk to potential new suitors.
Motherwell have offered him a new deal which he is yet to sign amid the interest from south of the border.
The central midfielder has been a revelation in the Scottish team coming into the side and tactics altered, and that has brought eyes to the direction of the midfielder.
Blackburn’s season is all but over so planning for the forthcoming campaign has started in earnest with reported interest in the Motherwell man.
With that said, would it be a good signing for Tony Mowbray’s side?
“While he has been impressive in Scotland, could he make it in the Championship?
“All signs would seem to indicate he could well be.
“Blackburn have several midfield options but lack a little bit of something, and Gorrin could be the man to provide that.
“But I don’t see this being a move that will come to fruition.”
“Central midfield is arguably the area where this Rovers team is strongest in terms of both numbers and ability.
“Summer spending is potentially set to be done on a budget following the huge losses reported in the League One promotion campaign of last season.
“So this feels like it could be a bit of a waste of a signing when you look at what Tony Mowbray’s side need in other areas of the pitch.”
“I think Gorrin would be a very good signing for Blackburn.
“He is obviously a very talented player who has really impressed me in the SPFL.
“He will be eager to make an impact in England and Blackburn would be a perfect destination for him.”
