The summer transfer window is fast approaching, with Leeds United one club already looking to rebuild following a disappointing 2017/18 campaign.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side have slipped to a mid-table position after a disappointing second-half to the season, with plenty of work to be done during the summer to get Leeds competing for promotion.

Adding the right quality at Elland Road is going to be key, but there is a chance that players could be on their way out in the summer.

Pontus Jansson and Samu Saiz, despite indifferent seasons, could be two players on the move this summer, with that duo arguably Leeds’ most valuable assets.

Premier League clubs could well be taking a look at Jansson, whilst Saiz will attract interest from elsewhere following an impressive, albeit inconsistent, first year in England.

With that in mind, we take a look at a new-look Leeds side for the 2018/19 campaign, should Jansson and Saiz both head for the exit door…

It is not yet clear whether Leeds will target a new No.1 this summer, or keep faith with Peacock-Farrell, who has done incredibly well in recent weeks.

When back to full fitness, Ayling will be a regular starter in Leeds’ back-four.

Leeds are targeting a deal for Bartley, and should Jansson leave, he will be the man to replace the Swede in central defence.

Cooper is Leeds’ captain, and with a lengthy contract behind him at Elland Road, you’d expect him to still be around next season.

Heckingbottom is keen on a reunion with Yiadom at Elland Road, with Leeds targeting a deal for the Barnsley defender, who is set to become a free agent.

Injury has plagued Forshaw’s involvement since arriving at Elland Road, but following a full pre-season, he should be back in contention.

Vieira is probably the midfielder best suited to playing alongside Forshaw.

Alioski’s first year in English football has been a mixed one, but Leeds have seen enough of him to be impressed. He should be confident of building on this season’s form.

Saiz’s departure would put Hernandez back into the No.10 role next season.

Roofe has played his best football for Leeds as the focal point of attack, but next year could find himself out in a wide position again, depending on who Leeds target in the summer.

McBurnie is a man on Leeds’ radar, with Heckingbottom keen to get the 21-year-old to Elland Road.

His role in this side would be interchangeable with Roofe, with both capable of pulling into a wide role.
