With the January transfer window now upon us, Coventry City midfielder Zain Westbrooke is said to be attracting interest from a host of high-profile clubs.

The 23-year-old has been an influential player for the Sky Blues this season, helping them climb to within touching distance of the automatic promotion places in League One.

The dynamic midfielder has scored four goals and added a further two assists for Mark Robins' side from the heart of midfield, and is now reportedly wanted by a host of clubs.

TEAMtalk claim that Nottingham Forest, West Bromwich Albion and Derby County are all interested in signing the box-to-box midfielder, with Bristol City also being credited with an interest.

Coventry will obviously want to keep hold of Westbrooke given his importance to the team, and it is claimed that they will demand around £2m for his signature if he were to leave.

Here, we take a look at the paths potentially awaiting Westbrooke this month...

Nottingham Forest

It is important that if Westbrooke did leave Coventry this month, then it would have to be for a team that guarantees him regular game time.

This is something that Forest would potentially struggle to give Westbrooke - the Reds already have a plethora of talented midfielders in their ranks, who are all much better players than the Coventry man.

The likes of Ryan Yates, Tiago Silva and Alfa Semedo have all impressed under Lamouchi this season, and it speaks volumes that the likes of Joao Carvalho and John Bostock are struggling for a place in the team at the moment.

With Bostock and Semedo only at the City Ground on loan, though, Westbrooke could be a useful permanent addition for the long run.

West Brom

Similarly to Forest, it is unlikely that West Brom would be able to promise Westbrooke regular game time given the quality they already possess in their squad.

Romaine Sawyers and Jake Livermore have been exceptional in the middle of the park this season, and in front of them, they have arguably the most dangerous trio in the division.

If Rekeem Harper is to leave The Hawthorns in the future, then Westbrooke could be a like-for-like replacement, but as long as Sawyers and Livermore are still at Albion, it would be incredibly hard for Westbrooke to break into the team.

Derby County

Derby is probably the best destination for Westbrooke if he is looking to push himself and play regularly.

The likes of Jason Knight and Louie Sibley have been given their chances to shine under Phillip Cocu this season, with the former scoring a brace against Charlton last week.

In Cocu's preferred 4-3-3 system, midfielders like Duane Holmes are relied upon breaking up play and carrying the ball forward, which is something that Westbrooke is particularly good at.
