Reading midfielder Michael Olise has recently been linked with a move to a number of Premier League sides ahead of the New Year.

The youngster has made 11 appearances in all competitions for the Royals this term, and has chipped in with two goals and three assists so far this season, with Reading currently sat top of the Championship table.

TEAMtalk have recently revealed that the likes of Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds and Liverpool are just some of the clubs keen on a deal to sign Olise.

A new development has emerged on Olise's future since though, with Football Insider claiming that Olise has a release clause of £8million.

Football League World's Reading FC fan Lee Richards reacted to the news of this reported release clause in Olise's contract, and admitted that he wouldn't be surprised to see the midfielder depart in the January transfer window.

"If a new contract can’t be agreed then I see Olise leaving in January a real possibility with such a low release fee, especially if he continues to build on his fine start to the season."

With a number of clubs reportedly interested in signing Olise, Richards went on to state that Everton would be the ideal destination for the 18-year-old if he was to leave the Berkshire-based side, and felt as though the youngster could follow in the footsteps of former Royals academy graduate Gylfi Sigurdsson.

"If he was to leave I think a move to a club like Everton would be fantastic. He would have some excellent senior pros to learn from and be mentored by as he is gradually introduced to football at the highest level. James Rodriguez and fellow academy alumni Gylfi Sigurdsson would be great players for Olise to model himself on.

"Everton this season have a nice blend of youth and experience and look to play attacking football under Carlo Ancelotti which would suit Olise’s creativity and flair well."

But the Reading FC supporter is hoping that Olise will remain with the Royals this season, despite attracting interest from other clubs early into this year's campaign.

"Reading fans, myself included, will be hoping he stays as it is clear he is a vital part of Veljko Paunovic’s team and our excellent form so far this season."

Olise and his Reading team-mates are set to return to action in the Championship this weekend, when they take on Stoke City, as they look to end their winless run, which now stands at two matches after defeats to both Coventry City and Preston North End.
