With Aitor Karanka splashing the cash in all directions at Nottingham Forest, some players who may not benefit from it are Forest's promising youngsters.

One of whom is centre-back Joe Worrall who, despite being a first-team regular last season, could see his place lost to a more experienced and ready-made replacement.

But one side who could benefit from this potential scenario is Leeds United.

Marcelo Bielsa is in need of more defenders after loaning out a handful of their back-ups and missing out on first choice signing Kyle Bartley.

It is possible that 21-year-old Worrall fits the bill perfectly for a place in the Leeds XI.

So would Worrall and Leeds be a good fit?

We discuss...

Chris Gallagher

This could be a good move.

He's a promising young defender and fits the profile for the type of player Leeds should be looking at. He would be a good partner for Jansson.

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, Championship quality players are always going to be a good fit with Championship teams, especially sides such as Leeds that need reinforcements.

Worrall is young but has played plenty of games in the second tier and would work well at Elland Road.

Jay Williams

This could be a match made in heaven – if he is available at the right price.

Worrall’s career seems to be stalling at Forest and his confidence is shot but fans do seem to forget that he was a top player at such a young age.

Defenders tend to get better with age as they mature and grow physically and Worrall could get over this poor patch of form in a new environment.

George Dagless

It would be an intriguing signing if it happened.

Worrall is still young but he has quality and would be pushing to start for Leeds as things stand.

Certainly, he'd likely excel under Bielsa's tuition if any move did actually come off.

Alfie Burns

I like Worrall, but he isn’t what Leeds need right now.

The centre-back has a huge future ahead of him, but he doesn’t have the experience that Leeds need.

They’d be fishing down the wrong hole if they made a move for him.
