Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis will be hoping to make several signings in the January window as he looks to shake up his squad.

Even though Boro are fifth in the table, the past month has been a real struggle, with fans unhappy at recent results and performances.

The side are quite predictable going forward and are the lowest scoring side in the top 18 in the Championship at the moment.

Therefore, it's clear where Pulis needs to strengthen in the New Year and he has already set about bringing in attacking options.

Huddersfield's Rajiv van La Parra is set to arrive at the Riverside when the window opens and will give the side much-needed pace.

But, is he a good signing for Boro?

Our writers take a look...

Gary Hutchinson

Yes!

He’s a real talent and deserves a stage on which to perform. I can see him being a success at Boro too, they need the outlet.

George Harbey

I think van la Parra is exactly what Middlesbrough need.

Pulis has said on more than one occasion that they miss Adama Traore’s pace and power up from, however van La Parra certainly provides that.

He’s already proven himself to be a real handful at Championship level in the past and I think he’s a brilliant signing for Boro.

Chris Gallagher

A great signing.

Boro desperately need to add pace and energy to the side and he will bring that.

They are far too predictable in the final third but van La Parra will change that and will be a massive lift to the club.
