Hull have signed plenty of exciting new players so far this summer window and will be looking up the Championship table to try and push on rather than down it in the next campaign.

The Tigers and new boss Shota Arveladze have worked well together so far and with some of the business the club are doing, there are plenty Hull fans who are now getting excited about the forthcoming season.

One of the names that has been snapped up during the offseason is Benjamin Tetteh, who played for Yeni Malatyaspor in Turkey. Having bagged a haul of seven goals and two assists in 26 league games last time out, he could be a decent signing for the club in the Championship.

The striker played in the Czech Republic for Sparta Prague and managed a double digit goal haul before his switch to Turkey and has also played in Belgium too. Now, he'll be taking on England for the first time in his career.

With the Tigers having made a handful of new signings though, there is no guarantee that Tetteh will even get into the starting eleven for the club's first game of the season against Bristol City. Now, Hull's Football League World fan pundit Ant Northgraves has agreed and believes that the team Arveladze chooses for the first fixture could be 'a lottery.'

Speaking about the potential inclusion of the player in the first-team then, he said: "I think it's a weird one because, you know, Oscar Estupinan has come with quite a big expectation you know, he's been seen as one of the signings of the summer for us and looks like he could contribute a lot of goals for the team.  Benjamin Tetteh coming in, he seems a bit of a different player, he's bigger, he's stronger, he's going to be more of an outlet, an aerial threat so I suppose it kind of depends on what system Shota is going to want to play.

"The 3-4-3 variation he's been playing or 3-5-2 and have them both up top but someone is missing out in that sense because Sayyadmanesh, Longman, players like that, Randell Williams has been playing very well but probably will come in at wing-back, it's going to be a bit of a lottery who makes the starting eleven against Bristol City.

"I personally save him and maybe bring him on to make a bit of an impact off the bench, if the game isn't quite going our way and we need to go more direct. But he's certainly an interesting signing and one that I'm excited to see."

The Verdict

Benjamin Tetteh played plenty of times in Turkey last season but perhaps fancied a fresh challenge and the prospect of English football by signing for Hull.

The Tigers and boss Shota Arveladze will be delighted to have got their man and Ant is right in suggesting that the player offers something different to the first-team compared to other names in the squad. He looks like he could be solid in the air and allows Hull to play in different styles in the Championship this season.

Now, with the new signings made by the club, they have a lot of optimism about their chances in the second tier this campaign. They have the players to look up the table and adding an option like Tetteh, who could be a solid player even as a backup, makes them stronger.

Even if the player doesn't manage to get onto the field this weekend, he'll no doubt get some use this season - and it could be beneficial to Hull this campaign.
