Barnsley suffered their second away defeat of the 2019/20 Championship campaign last night at the hands of Birmingham City.

Despite holding their own in the first-half at St Andrew's, the Tykes were made to pay for their lack of creativity in the second period by the Blues who took the lead via a Lukas Jutkiewicz header.

Whereas Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel did try to respond to going behind by bringing on Patrick Schmidt and Mallik Wilks, his side fell further behind in the 77th minute as Alvaro Gimenez expertly chipped goalkeeper Samuel Radlinger.

Although the Tykes continued to dominate possession, they couldn't find a way past Birmingham's defence and ended up leaving the West Midlands empty-handed.

In what was a tough night for Barnsley, defender Toby Sibbick struggled considerably in what was only his fourth appearance at Championship level.

Out-jumped at the back-post by Jutkiewicz for Birmingham's opener, the 20-year-old's tepid overall performance saw him incur the wrath of plenty of Barnsley fans after the game on Twitter.

Here are some of the best reactions from the club's supporters to his display...

With the Tykes looking to bounce back from this defeat at Oakwell on Saturday against Luton Town, it will be intriguing to see whether Stendel includes Sibbick in his starting eleven or instead opts to bring Dimitri Cavare back into the fold.
