Sheffield United have been outstanding in the Sky Bet Championship this season, with Chris Wilder’s side looking like an outfit capable of challenging for a place in the Premier League next season, less than a year after promotion from League One.

The Blades have recorded some outstanding results so far this season, which has led to them sitting second heading into November’s international break, with an opportunity to move back to the top of the Championship table on Friday evening.

There have been plenty of standout performers at Bramall Lane this season, but who is the Blades’ unsung hero?

We take a look…

Sam Rourke

Paul Coutts.

The former Derby man often gets overlooked for praise, with the likes of Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp often stealing the limelight.

Alongside Fleck and Duffy, Coutts is an integral figure in the middle of the park and keeps things ticking over for the Blades.

Don't underestimate his ability.

Chris Gallagher

I'd go for Enda Stevens, although there are many other candidates.

However, the Irish left-back has been outstanding.

He has contributed with four assists in the league and is defensively solid.

Stevens was a low-key signing in the summer but has handled the step up from League Two to the Championship with ease.

Adam Simeoni

Jack O'Connell for sure.

The big defender has been sensational for the Blades since joining from Brentford, and his domineering nature at the heart of the defence has seen the club acquire one of the best defensive records in the league.

Defenders often go uncredited for their work, but O'Connell deserves plaudits for his efforts.

George Dagless

John Fleck.

Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp and the like will get all the plaudits but the Blades wouldn't be where they are without their midfield.

They've got some talented, hard-working players in the centre and Fleck is a key component.
