Aston Villa recorded a much-needed win over Bolton last night, with Jack Grealish playing a significant role after getting his first goal of the season.

The talented midfielder had come in for criticism leading up to the fixture, as despite his ability he had no goals and just one assist to his name so far.

However, he made a decisive contribution against the Trotters, getting Villa off to a fine start with an early goal that he took very well before a fine set-piece allowed James Chester to make it 2-0.

As well as that, his overall play was very good, with the local lad operating more centrally under Dean Smith, having the freedom to roam and find space.

The 23-year-old was crucial to Villa's promotion push last season and he will be vital if Smith's side are to push on in this campaign.

Even with the victory last night, the West Midlands side remain four points from the play-off places with the rest of the division to play over the weekend.

Yet, if Grealish can maintain the high standards he set last night, many will feel Villa could go on a strong run.

Here's how some supporters reacted to his display...
