Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is lining up his targets for the January transfer window, with 24-year-old Sunderland skipper George Honeyman, a player he feels could bolster the Blades' promotion push, according to Alan Nixon in the Sun on Sunday (November 4th, Page 59).

The Blades relinquished top spot in the Championship to Leeds at the weekend following a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, and this will have reinforced Wilder's opinion that he needs to recruit, to avoid falling short again as he did last season.

So would Honeyman be good business for Sheffield United?

We discuss.....

George Harbey

A huge signing for the Blades.

Honeyman is only 24 yet captains one of the biggest clubs in the country and arguably the best in League One.

He can be an adequate replacement/competition to the ageing Mark Duffy in the number ten role, and could be a fantastic signing.

Jay Taylor

It would be a typical Chris Wilder signing, this.

I can see George Honeyman fitting in well in the current Sheffield United side and offering some metal and battle in the middle as they look to sustain a push towards to the Premier League.

It would make sense too, with an ageing middle with Paul Coutts and Mark Duffy over the age of 30.

Honeyman would be a great signing for now and for the future, too.

Wilder should certainly pursue this.

George Dagless

He's a good player but I don't know if the Blades need him.

I like Honeyman and think he is definitely Championship quality but Sheffield United have a lot of midfielders already.

Do they need him? Probably not.
