Ipswich Town have today confirmed that Mick McCarthy is to leave the club when his contract ends at the conclusion of this season.

It's been a real roller-coaster of a ride for McCarthy at the club with the first few years promising much before the last couple that have seen the Tractor Boys stuck more in mid-table.

Indeed, it's that lack of progression and, ultimately, promotion to the Premier League that has seen many grow disillusioned with McCarthy's time at the club and, after a meeting with Marcus Evans, it's been decided it's best to part ways.

Certainly, then, it'll be interesting to see who the club manages to bring in to replace the former Wolves man as they aim for promotion but whilst we wait to see how that pans out let's take a look at the reaction to the news.
