Leeds United are exploring a possible deal for Derby County striker Matej Vydra, according to the Daily Mail.

Is the Czech Republic striker a player that the Whites need? Can they afford him?

We discuss....

George Dagless

He's exactly what Leeds need.

The Whites need a proven striker at Championship level and Vydra is exactly that.

If Derby need the funds and Leeds have the money this is a deal you can see happening.

Chris Gallagher

A great signing, particularly if Bielsa joins.

Vydra is a creative forward and could be crucial in the way the Argentinian wants to play. Importantly, he also scores goals and has proven himself to be one of the best in the league over the years.

It's going to cost and Derby will demand a big fee so you could debate whether he is value for money, however as a player he is a major improvement on what Leeds have and exactly what they need.

Ben Barkworth

Vydra would be an excellent signing for this level because he had a brilliant individual season for Derby.

However, the team would have to be adjusted slightly because him and Pablo Hernandez occupy similar positions.

Jay Williams

An outlay of £10m may seem steep at first glance but for a proven Championship goal scorer at a good age at 26, it could be a shrewd piece of business.

Leeds desperately need to replace Chris Wood and Vydra is capable of scoring the goals to fire Leeds into promotion contention.

Although he is not an out-and-out striker, he is still prolific when he is in form and he would be the marquee signing Leeds are hoping for.

Alfie Burns

It’d be a great move by Leeds and some statement of intent.

Vydra was amongst the best attackers in the Championship last season and he would be ideal for Leeds next season.

There has been a huge shift in ambition at Elland Road, which is great for Leeds’ supporters.
