Newly Promoted Blackburn Rovers look set to complete the loan signing of Chelsea younger Kasey Palmer, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

The 21-year-old is set to swap Stamford Bridge for Ewood Park until the end of the year, with Tony Mowbray looking to add depth to his side ahead of the new Championship season.

Palmer has extensive experience in the second-tier having spent the last two seasons with Huddersfield Town and Derby County, respectively.

Chelsea’s midfielder coming in will add competition for places and alleviate some of the undoubted pressure on Rovers’ player of the year Bradley Back.

During his second-half of the season spell at Pride Park, Palmer made 16 appearances after he moved from Premier League Huddersfield, where he was again on loan, since the start of last season.

Palmer was apart of the Terriers team that won promotion to the top flight via the Championship play-offs two years ago.

And now with the young attacking midfielder look set for a third successive season on loan in the Championship, this time with Blackburn Rovers, will be a good signing for Mowbray’s side?

We discuss…

Christian Fuller

Kasey Palmer is another strong loan addition for Blackburn Rovers.

He is the sort of versatile midfielder that will provide cover for a lot of positions, as potentially come into his own throughout this coming campaign.

The youngster, despite never playing for Chelsea, has huge potential and with a good season away on loan for Blackburn, might just get the nod in the years to come.

George Dagless

A great move.

Palmer is a very good player and is capable of playing for a promotion challenging side.

This is the sort of move that will get Blackburn up the league table.

Jay Williams

This is a very shrewd for Tony Mowbray's men.

Palmer is a proven threat from midfield in the Championship, and he has experience of getting into the play-offs and sealing promotion.

Blackburn could be the right environment for him to thrive in as well, similar to how he did at Huddersfield Town.

Alfie Burns

This will be some coup for Mowbray and Blackburn.

Palmer is a player I really like, and last season at Derby, he didn’t get the chance he should have.

At Blackburn, he will go into Mowbray’s squad with a point to prove, which could make him a dangerous outlet.
