Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Rajiv Van La Parra on loan until the end of the season.

Van La Parra has fallen down the pecking order at Huddersfield Town this season, with Boro confirming that they’ve reached an agreement with the Premier League side to take the 27-year-old on loan.

Previously, the Dutchman won promotion to the Premier League with Town and arrives in Teesside to fill the void left by Adama Traore back in the summer.

So, is this a good piece of business for Boro?

We discuss…

George Harbey

Van La Parra is exactly what Boro need.

Tony Pulis has already gone on record and said that Boro miss Adama Traore’s pace and power down the flanks, and the Dutchman certainly provides that.

He’s proven what a dangerous player he can be at Championship level at Wolves and Huddersfield, and he’ll prove to be a magnificent addition at the Riverside.

George Dagless

I think it's potentially a good signing.

He brings energy out wide and Boro need something extra going forwards heading into the remainder of the season.

He knows how to compete at the sharp end so I think we could see him prove a decent arrival.

Jacob Potter

It's a great bit of business.

Van La Parra is already proven in the Championship and he can change the course of a game on his own.

If he can adjust to life with Boro quickly then he could be the missing spark they've needed going forward this season.

Chris Gallagher

A superb signing.

This is exactly what Boro need and Tony Pulis will be delighted to get this is over the line.

Boro are far too slow and boring in the final third, so they were desperate for someone with pace and energy to help them as an attacking force and Van La Parra is perfect for that.

Sam Rourke

This is a useful signing.

Boro were in desperate need of some wingers and Van La Parra brings experience, pace and dynamism to the flanks.

I imagine he'll be a frequent starter for Boro as Pulis aims to get his side's promotion push back on track.

If he can emulate some of the form he showcased in Huddersfield's promotion winning season, then he could excel at the Riverside.
