Sheffield Wednesday are in talks to appoint Jos Luhukay as their new manager, according to the Sun.

The largely unknown manager has spent the majority of his managerial career in Germany, and it certainly comes a surprise to most Owls fans.

Would Luhukay be a wise appointment by Chansiri?

We discuss....

Luke Randall

A good appointment, but a risk.

Indeed, a manager that managed to achieve a win percentage above 40% in all of his three previous jobs in a tough Bundesliga, will bring fight and a dogged approach to a rather flat Wednesday side.

Whether he's proven enough is yet to be seen, but there's no doubt he knows how to win you games, and grind out results.

Sam Preston

He would be an odd choice.

A man who has bobbed around clubs in Germany and whose last job, with Stuttgart, lasted less than five months does not immediately strike you as the man to turn Wednesday's fortunes around.

That reign lasted just five matches, after a falling out with the owner, and it has to be a worry that something similar will happen again.

There are better options out there.

Alfie Burns

Luhukay is a largely unknown quantity, as it is hard to make comparisons between the German second-tier and the Championship, as the latter is proving to be one of the most demanding leagues in the world.

If Chansiri goes down this route, it will be seen as a risk, however, the Wednesday money man has proved in the past that he is not afraid to take a risk.

The Dutchman has a track record of promotion, which will standout on his CV, particularly to the Owls, who have longed for a Premier League return.
