Portsmouth will still be hopeful of returning to the Championship this season with the League One play-off race certainly looking a close-run thing.

The men from Fratton Park have had a good season so far after coming up from League Two and they certainly look capable of getting into the top six if they string a decent run of form together.

For sure, then, it looks as though it is going to go to the wire in the third tier but Pompey will be confident that they can challenge with our latest FLW Spotlight subject leading the charge - Brett Pitman:

A goal every 166 minutes this season underlines how important Pitman has been for the Hampshire side this season.

He's the second top scorer behind the brilliant Jack Marriott in the League One top scorers list with 14 goals whilst his strike in the EFL Trophy takes his total to 15.

Throughout the season it has been clear that Pitman is the main man carrying Pompey's top six hopes and, again, the numbers back that up - he has twice as many league goals as second top scorer Oliver Hawkins.

There's one issue with being reliant on him though. With just the one goal in his last seven games, it's clear that Pompey need him to get on another hot-streak before too long and to bring that goals per minute total even lower if they are to get into the top six come May.
