But the winger looks set to sign for Carlos Corberan's Development Squad at Elland Road, with the youngster travelling to Yorkshire in the week for talks with the club, in a deal that could rise to £400,000 due to appearances and sell-on clauses.

Here, we discuss the signing...

George Harbey

McKinstry could be a great signing for Leeds - he looks to be a really promising player with a bright future ahead of him.

To be named on the bench at such a young age shows that he is someone to be taken note of.

He'll be looking to follow in the footsteps of Jack Clarke, who keeps on improving...

Jacob Potter

It's an interesting one.

It's good to see Leeds preparing for the future and McKinstry certainly is one of the brightest prospects out there.

The quoted fee makes this a gamble, but if he can continue to progress then it's a gamble worth taking.

Chris Gallagher

It's a good move for Leeds.

Obviously, McKinstry is very young so it's too soon to say how good he will be but it's pleasing for the fans to see they are targeting talented youngsters to come through.

Now it's down to the player to develop and improve at the Whites if the move goes through.
