Derby County have enjoyed a successful start to the Championship season and to life under new manager Frank Lampard.

After last season it looked as though the Rams may face a period of stagnation as their ageing squad appeared to have arrived at the limits of their powers.

But the appointment of Lampard changed all of that as he led a summer rebuild focused around the acquisition of exciting, young and dynamic attacking talent to revitalise the club.

Thus far it has worked a treat and the club currently sit inside the top six after nine league games. They have adapted quickly to their manager and he has to adapted management life just as fast and the noticeable room the squad have left to improve is exciting.

Here at FLW, we like to take the time to focus on a specific partnership that we have been impressed by and this time it is the turn of Mason Mount and Harry Wilson.

The young Englishman and the young Welshman sum up the exciting new look to the Derby team. Both joined in the summer on loan from Chelsea and Liverpool respectively and have clicked remarkably quickly.

Mount so far has three goals and one assist to his name in a Rams' shirt whilst Wilson has racked up just the one goal but in four less appearances than his teammate.

The Liverpool loanee's first for the club came on Saturday as he and Mount led one of the quickest counter attacks you are ever likely to see from a Brentford corner finishing with Wilson tapping in his teammate's layoff.

The Rams won that match 3-1, convincingly seeing off their high-flying opponents and they will be hopeful of putting in another impressive display when they travel to Manchester United in the League Cup.

But if Mount and Wilson continue to perform at the standard they currently are then the Pride Park faithful will be in for a very exciting season.
