Blackburn Rovers have enjoyed a steady start to life back in the Sky Bet Championship, with Tony Mowbray’s side looking to establish themselves back in the second-tier.

Mowbray’s side have won just twice in their opening eight fixtures, but they’ve lost only once, drawing the other five fixtures.

It’s been a reasonably tough start on paper, but Blackburn look in like they’re in a good place and heading in the right direction under Mowbray.

Unless something drastic changes at Ewood Park, by the time February comes, Mowbray will be celebrating two years with Blackburn. In that period, Mowbray has suffered almost every emotion in a spell that has brought so many highs and lows.

Mowbray was appointed in February 2017, with Blackburn struggling in the Championship. However, the ex-Middlesbrough boss wasn’t able to prevent Rovers suffering relegation and slipping into League One.

Regardless of that relegation, Blackburn kept faith with Mowbray, who was quick to repay the Blackburn hierarchy.

Blackburn finished second in League One last season, with Mowbray’s side picking up 96 points and securing an instant return to the second-tier.

Now, Mowbray has Blackburn mid-table in the Championship after eight fixtures, with the Ewood Park club seemingly on the rise.

Mowbray has been key to turning Blackburn around in his 19 months at the club, with the 54-year-old deserving huge credit.

In our latest FLW Rewind, we take a look back at the day Mowbray was appointed at Ewood Park.

It’s safe to say that the opinion of these Blackburn fans might have changed…
