New Reading manager Jose Gomes has hade his first signing at the Madejski Stadium with Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria joining the Royals on loan until the end of the season, as confirmed on the club website.

After securing Ejaria's signature, Gomes told Reading's website: "In Ovie we have signed a player who is comfortable with the ball at his feet, can pass the ball quickly and effectively to make things happen in the final third and who shows a composure which is rare in such a young central midfielder."

Ejaria has played eight times for Liverpool, and has had spells out on loan at Sunderland and more recently Rangers in the SPFL, under the management of Steven Gerrard.

So is Ejaria a good signing for Reading?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

He had an underwhelming spell at Rangers and I fail to see what this move achieves.

Does he make Reading better? I fail to see that he does.

If the signing works out, great, but I don’t think that it will.

It remains to be seen, but I for one think this is a move that will have very little positives come the rest of the season.

Chris Gallagher

A decent signing.

Ejaria certainly has the ability but it's down to him now.

People questioned his attitude as he left Rangers and he needs to step up and prove why he is so highly-rated.

George Dagless

It's worth a punt.

He's not quite there for Liverpool yet but he could be a force in the second tier.

He found it tough at Rangers, though, so he's definitely got a point to prove in the coming months.
