Blackburn Rovers are reportedly interested in a deal to sign West Brom defender Cedric Kipre according to Lancashire Live.

Kipre has found regular game time hard to come by with the Baggies in the Premier League, who are now managed by Sam Allardyce, following the departure of Slaven Bilic.

Kipre does have experience of playing in the Championship, having caught the eye with a number of strong performances for Wigan Athletic in a two-year spell with the Latics.

But with the defender struggling for regular minutes, it certainly wouldn't come as a surprise to see him heading for the exit door at The Hawthorns on a temporary basis during the January transfer window.

A move to Blackburn could tempt the 24-year-old as well, with Tony Mowbray's side currently sat 11th in the Championship table, and five points adrift of the play-off places heading into the second-half of this year's campaign.

But would Kipre be a good addition to the Blackburn team in the January transfer window?

We discuss....

Phil Spencer:

This could prove to be an excellent move.

After being a regular for West Brom in each of the last two seasons Cedric Kipre has fallen way down the pecking order at the Hawthorns this term.

Limited to just two cup appearances, it seems that he's not got a part to play for the Baggies this season. Blackburn Rovers need defensive reinforcements and so this is a deal that could be great for them.

Kipre knows what it takes to thrive at this level and so it appears to be a deal that works for all parties.

George Dagless:

I think he could be.

Blackburn evidently want to sign another defender to help them along and deal with the injury problems they have been hit with.

Kipre is a proven Championship defender and did brilliantly well at Wigan, earning himself a move to West Brom.

It's a shame he's not really had a sniff at the Albion since but he is still a good defender and I think Rovers would benefit from him for sure.

Jake Sanders:

It's not surprising to see the defender linked away from the Baggies this window.

Kipre has been restricted to just two EFL Cup appearances this season for West Brom - with the last of those coming more than three months ago - meaning he'll be desperate to move out on loan and play regular football.

As for Blackburn, they've currently got both Daniel Ayala and Scott Wharton out injured, so a move to Ewood Park would be a sensible one, and give Kipre an opportunity to see some minutes after a frustrating start to the campaign.
