Stoke City's task of retaining the services of goalkeeper Jack Butland appear to have become harder, after it was revealed that a second Premier League club have joined the race to sign the stopper.

After it was previously reported that Crystal Palace were contemplating a move for the England stopper, The Sun have now claimed that Premier League rivals Bournemouth have taken an interest in Butland as well.

Butland has been an ever present for Stoke in the Championship this season, keeping an impressive 17 clean sheets, but is said to be keen on a return to the Premier League.

So would Butland be a good signing for Bournemouth?

We asked some of our FLW writers for their opinion...

Jacob Potter

"This would be a very smart bit of business by the Cherries.

"Butland is proven in the Premier League and is more than capable of making the step up to the top-flight.

"It would suit Butland as well as he needs to be playing at a higher level to be able force his way into the England squad on the international stage.

"A good move for both parties involved here."

Toby Wilding

"This would be a shrewd bit of business from Bournemouth.

"Eddie Howe's side are in a difficult run of form and they may need a goalkeeper as it's been something of a problem position for them this season with the manager switching between keepers..

"It would certainly give Butland the chance to prove he's still worthy of an England berth."

Chris Gallagher

"He would be the perfect signing.
"Bournemouth need a new keeper as Asmir Begovic hasn't convinced and Artur Boruc is past his best.
"It would be a great move for Butland as well considering he will be desperate to get back into the Premier League, whilst the funds should allow Nathan Jones to bring in his own players. It's a deal that suits everyone."
