Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of free agent Fraizer Campbell, causing quite a reaction from fans of his former club Hull City on social media.

The 31-year-old striker - who was born and raised in Huddersfield - has joined his hometown club on a free transfer, after he was released by Hull this summer.

The centre-forward scored twelve goals in 39 appearances for Hull in the Championship last season, as the Tigers finished 13th in the table under Nigel Adkins, although he was unable to convince the club to offer him a new deal.

Campbell has been training with non-league Brighouse Town this summer, in an attempt to keep his fitness levels up while he searched for a new club.

The striker has signed a two-year deal with Huddersfield, which will keep him at the John Smith's Stadium until the summer of 2021 - although the club have the option of a further year.

Campbell first joined Hull on loan from Manchester United in 2007/08 and scored 15 goals in 37 appearances, helping the Tigers win promotion from the Championship via the play-offs.

He rejoined the Tigers in 2017 after he was released by Crystal Palace and went on to score 18 goals in 77 appearances during his second spell for the club.

Plenty of Hull fans took to social media to react to the news that Campbell has signed for Huddersfield.

Many supporters were quick to wish the striker all the best for the future while other fans pointed out that he will be a good signing for the Terriers and expressed their disappointment at the fact that Hull did not offer him a new deal.
