Sunderland clearly mean business as we enter the final stages of the January transfer window.
Reports from the Northern Echo have claimed that the Black Cats are closing in on a deal to Jordan Jones on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The former Middlesbrough youngster has fallen way down the pecking order under Steven Gerrard at Rangers, meaning that first team opportunities have been hard to come by this term.
The 26-year-old winger has featured just four times for the Scottish Premiership leaders’ first team and so a move to the Stadium Of Light seems to be an ideal solution to get him some regular gametime.
Sunderland fan site Roker Roport shared news of the agreement on social media and sparked quite a reaction from supporters.
Here’s what a selection of fans had to say.
That's a cracking signing! pic.twitter.com/sQvpam94cF

Quiz: Have any of these 22 players ever been in Sunderland’s academy?
Yeah saw that, decent player mate just doesn't fit in our system. Proper winger, stays wide – very quick and a really good crosser of the ball and can come up with a goal. Really good for Northern Ireland as well, would be an excellent player in league 1 no doubts.

Looks like he was at Boro the same time as Wyke & they’re a similar age. Hopefully more ammo for the big man up top!
