Andrea Radrizzani seems to be getting things right at Leeds United, with his appointment of Marcelo Bielsa looking like it could be a defining moment in the club’s history.

Leeds supporters aren’t used to the position the club currently find themselves in, and just a short time ago there was a huge divide at Elland Road, mainly due to the ownership of Massimo Cellino.

The controversial Italian had overseen numerous head-coaches at Elland Road, with Leeds making little progress on the field.

Cellino eventually left Elland Road in the summer of 2017, with Radrizzani gaining full control of Leeds.

In our latest FLW Timemachine, we look back at Cellino’s departure and whether it was the best for the club…

Louie Chandler

“Absolutely it was.

“Cellino's reign had been a constant source of embarrassment for the Whites and that coming to an end was a huge moment.

“Constant manager sackings and dreadful football was not what the fans deserved at all.”

Alfie Burns

“A day where many breathed a sigh of relief.

“Cellino’s reign was draining and full of controversy. His departure meant Leeds could start acting like a proper football club again.

“Delight at Elland Road.”

Jacob Potter

“The end of an era – for all the right reasons.

“His antics played a significant role in affecting matters on the pitch and Leeds will have been delighted to see the back of him.

“It’s the best thing to happen to the club in recent years by some distance.”
